About Taylor Universal Fitness
Meet Your New Trainer:
Steve Taylor
Steve is a certified Corrective Exercise, Nutrition Coach, and Performance Enhancement personal trainer.
Steve Taylor is the founder of Taylor Universal Fitness and a coach who specializes in helping adults restore their health, body, and lifestyle after years of sedentary living.
Steve believes that aging does not mean decline—and that with the right guidance, safe training, and personal commitment, people can rebuild strength, mobility, and confidence at any stage of life. His coaching focuses on sustainable movement, recovery, and healthy living, not quick fixes or extreme programs.
Steve’s Story
Steve’s passion for corrective exercise and long-term health began in his early 20s while serving in the military.
Despite being physically active, Steve struggled with chronic back problems. He could excel at sit-ups and the two-mile run, but something as basic as push-ups caused ongoing pain and repeatedly put his military career at risk. His inability to pass the push-up portion of the PT test delayed his progress, kept him from attending Jump School, and held him over during Advanced Individual Training (AIT).
Like many people, Steve pushed through pain without fully understanding the root cause. Being tall and thin only added to the strain on his back, and the discomfort followed him throughout his four years of military service.
Everything changed when Steve shifted his focus from just “working out” to strengthening his foundation—especially his core. Over time, proper training, movement awareness, and consistency allowed his body to recover in ways he never thought possible.
Now in his 60s, Steve hasn’t needed a chiropractor since his early 30s—not because he ignores his body, but because he learned how to support it correctly.
Why He Coaches
Steve knows firsthand how frustrating it feels to live in a body that doesn’t cooperate—especially when you’re doing your best. That experience is why he now dedicates his work to helping older adults who feel stuck, discouraged, or convinced that change is no longer possible.
His message is simple but powerful:
You are not broken.
You are not “too old”.
And with the right training and commitment to yourself, your body CAN improve - along with your entire life experience.
Through personalized coaching in movement and nutrition, Steve helps clients rebuild strength, restore mobility, and create healthier lifestyles that support independence and confidence for years to come.
